A Collective Beauty Haul
12:00
Over the past few weeks, I've managed to accumulate a few bits and pieces from various trips in and out of Boots and Superdrug. Even a few pieces added on to ASOS and Feel Unique orders for good measure.
The first thing I purchased was way
back in July, as I wanted a durable concealer that would withstand my
graduation ceremony. Benefit were re-launching their classic Boi-ing concealer
in a few new formulations, so I thought it would be the perfect time to revisit
this concealer and try the Industrial Strength version, as I did want something
that would last all day and be fair enough for my complexion, yet not be cakey
or thick to apply.
When I heard that Burt's Bees were releasing
lipsticks, I was really intrigued, as I love the Burt's Bees lip balms, so I
was keen to see how the lipsticks would turn out. I picked up one shade to
start off with and I was absolutely blown away. The formulation is so smooth,
buttery and easy to apply. I've been meaning to pick up a few more shades as I
know these will be the perfect lipsticks to wear throughout Autumn and Winter,
due to the moisturising properties that these lipsticks contain. Brimming Berry and Wine Wave look like the perfect
shades to pick up next.
I haven't heard that much about these
lipsticks yet, but on a recent trip into Superdrug, I spied them sitting neatly
on the shelf and I couldn't help but take a look. Despite not hearing much
about them, I ended up picking them up anyway by getting a typical me
shade, Rose & Shine and one that I think will be perfect for Autumn, Plum This Show. So far, I've found these
lipsticks to be pretty good on the budget liquid lipstick scheme of things. I
found both shades to be very long wearing, with little need for a top-up or
lipstick check. However, I did find that the darker shade, Plum This Show was
slightly patchy on application, but using a lip balm before applying the
lipstick, then patting the lipstick lightly with a tissue afterwards is a quick
fix to this problem.
A while ago, I picked up the Brush Cleansing Palette and the Brush Cleanser to see if it would make
the whole brush-cleaning chore a little easier. Not only as it's a long
process, but having my hands constantly submerged in hot water full of baby
shampoo wasn't doing any favours to the sensitive skin on my hands. Ever since
I started using this duo, the process has been much faster, more enjoyable (I
love watching all the crap being removing using the dense, bobbly side of the
palette) and my hands have been thanking me for it. So, naturally whenever my
bottle started to run empty, I knew I had to repurchase it straight away.
I've been meaning to pick up Glow Tonic for ages, saying as absolutely
everyone seems to have tried it and loved it. One thing that my skin reacts
really well to is glycolic acid, as I just love the resurfacing properties
without it being too harsh on my skin. The added aloe vera really helps to
soothe the skin too. Around the start of the year I began using the Alpha H Liquid Gold and although I still
love it, I've reduced how many times I've been using it in the week as I think
my skin has got too used to it as it stopped being as effective.
OGX are one of my
favourite affordable hair care brands. I've tried a few different products from
the range, such as the Sunkissed Blonde Lemon Highlights Shampoo & Conditioner, the Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Shampoo & Conditioner, the Moroccan Sea Salt Spray and finally, the Renewing Argan Oil Of Morocco Weightless Reviving Dry Oil. I decided it was about time to try the Gravity-Defying & Hydration + 02 Shampoo & Conditioner, as it claims to
moisturise, volumise and breathe life into fine hair, which is exactly what I
need at this time of the year, as all the balayages start to take their toll on
my hair when the weather starts to turn a little chillier. So far, this shampoo
and conditioner duo hasn't disappointed me, as it really has stuck with it's
claim of giving life to fine hair. I'm yet to find an OGX product to disappoint
me.
Have you tried any of these products? Let me know in the comments!
