Spending Ban | Saving Money
12:00So, after buying myself a new coat, a pair of boots and some non-essential beauty bits and pieces, I realised that I don't really need to buy anything else. So, I've challenged myself to do spending ban until 2016 and make proper use out of my savings account. *gasps*
I think I'm underestimating how extremely difficult this will be for me, saying as I can't walk into Boots without leaving with a new nail polish or lipstick. So, I'm also going to make two milestones, my birthday (27th October) and Christmas, where I can buy myself a little treat whilst still trying to remain under £35. It is my 21st after all!
I know that my biggest weaknesses are sales, offers (3 for 2, 2 for £10 etc.), boosted discounts on UNiDAYS, discount codes and vouchers, so I'm going to try my best to avoid these as much as possible.
However, apart from the obvious essentials (shower gel, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner etc.), I will allow myself to buy the following items whenever they run out, since I use them on a daily basis and I will always purchase them again and again.
Skin
- Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
- Cleanser: Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser/First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser
- La Roche-Posay Serozinc Spray
- Serum: La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo [+]/Vichy Normaderm Night Detox
Make-Up
- Concealer: Seventeen Phwoarr Paint Concealer/Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer/Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
- Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder/Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder
- Soap & Glory Archery 2-In-1 Brow Filling Pencil & Brush

Good luck! It's a long time until the end of the year but I'm sure you'll do fine. Would love to see how much you manage to save. =^-^=

Thank you! It's worth a try!
DeleteMy bff and I did a promise of not buying any piece of clothing until Black Friday or Christmas. We started at the end of july and we are doing great, none of us has bought anything!
ReplyDeleteI hope you do well and you save lots of money hahaha.
Have a nice week, lovely xx

You have both done so well then!
DeleteI'm seriously considering a spending ban at the moment - I have SO many products, it's ridiculous already! So hard not to be tempted by shiny new things though, good luck with it!

I know exactly what you mean, I can't resist new products!
DeleteGood luck on your spending ban! I decided to implement a similar one for myself after I loaded up a shopping cart and realized that I didn't really need any of it. It's only about 4 days in but it's been rough!

It definitely is difficult at the start!
DeleteGood luck!I think I'm in need of a spending ban, as like every other beauty blogger I spend way too much money on makeup.I also noticed I have a lot of clothing items hanging in my wardrobe that still have the tags! *whoopsie*

I have loads of clothes that I've never worn, so bad!
DeleteI was trying a spending ban but it's failed miserably! Only buying things when you run out is a good call though. Someone also mentioned to me only buying something new when you've finished something similar, which seems a good idea xx
